A couple of small mild marks on the text block edges, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket (chapped at base of spine with short, c. 1cm tear at base of spine, nicked on rear upper edge). 4to. A full history of the Knights of the Order of the Temple of Solomon - the Knights Templar - together with an account of the men who founded and shaped the Order, bringing together the knightly and religious roles which were at the core of the higher echelons of medieval society, and its downfall as Philip IV of France used the Order's shortcomings as a pretext for accusing the Brothers of heresy.
