Reissue. xii, illustrated. In blue cloth boards, gilt lettering on spine (cloth very lightly rubbed on edges). Previous owner's name on front free endpaper, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket (slightly rubbed at spine tips). Jacket protected in a Brodart style sleeve. Frieda von Richthofen and D H Lawrence met in April 1912 and soon became close companions, eloping to Germany and marrying in 1914. In Not I, But the Wind, Freida records the most productive part of Lawrence's creative life, in part biography and in part a selection of letters and a fundamental source book for Lawrentian studies. 8vo.
