First trade edition (fifty copies having been privately printed a few years earlier). xii, 276pp. Black and white plate frontispiece and eight further similar plate illustrations. In black cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine (boards a little worn and marked). Some mild flecking on text block edges. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket (chipped at edges all round with minor loss along rear upper edge, a little discoloured). 8vo. J M Barrie's autobiography - the book that prompted George Moore to call Barrie 'one of the most beautiful writers of the English language that ever lived'.
