First edition, first printing. 384pp, with maps on endpapers. In burgundy cloth boards with gilt titles on spine (very gently rounded at spine ends, text block edges have some mild marks). The front free endpaper is creased, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket (lightly rubbed at edges, the top corner of the inner front flap has been folded over to cover manuscript pricing, mildly sunned spine). A novel of Alkibiades and the Peloponnesian War, Sutcliff first novel since Sword at Sunset. Hard to find.
