1953 reprint. 160pp, with black and white illustrations, charts, tables etc. In red cloth-covered boards with black decorations and lettering (cloth is a little worn and faded at edges, rounded at spine tips and corners). Previous owner's name on front free endpaper, together with a couple of pencil annotations, similar on rear endpapers, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A discourse on the nature and properties of heat, with chapter headings including Thermometers, Expansion of Solids and Liquids, Expansion of Gases, Change of State, Measurement of Heat, Heat Engines, the Nature of Heat etc. 12mo.
