First edition, first impression. viii, 328pp plus publisher's catalogue at rear. Seven monochrome plate illustrations (one loose). Frontispiece absent. In a pictorial trade cloth binding, blue cloth illustrated front and spine, with gilt lettering. 8vo. Boards gently rubbed at edges, lightly rounded on spine ends, small nick in cloth at base of spine. Some mild spotting on text block edges. Mild toning on free endpapers, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. English writer and pacifist Theodora Wilson Wilson (1865 - 1941) developed a reputation 'quaint' novels which was blown apart in 1916 when she published her science fiction novel, The Last Weapon, A Vision, whose anti-war message led to its being banned.
