Dust jackets(s) with a Brodart-style, paper-backed, protective sleeve fitted by previous owner.
xxvi, 574pp, 16 black and white plates inc. frontispiece. Black cloth-covered boards, gilt titles on front, gilt design on spine, gilt titles on red printed spine label. Top text block edge sprayed red; black endpapers. 8vo. Spine ends and corners rubbed, front top corner lightly bumped. Volume quite loose. Text block fore edge untrimmed, endpapers lightly foxed. Internally pages are lightly tanned at the margins otherwise neat, clean and bright. Dust jacket in a protective Bordart style sleeve; sun-faded spine; loss at heel and word at fore-edges, chipping along edges. Rembrandt is packed with information of the 17th Century, when Amsterdam was the centre of the European world. It is an account of the last years and death of the Dutch painter and etcher who lived and worked in Amsterdam.
