[1946] 1st edition, 1st impression. Blue cloth boards (worn, marked, faded around spine joints). Lending sheet on front endpaper but no other library markings. In its original pictorial dust jacket (rubbed at edges, chapped along lower edge, minor loss on edge in a couple of places, creased on spine and verso, interior tape repairs, but still bright and attractive and complete). Gerald Butler (July 31, 1907 - February 1, 1988) was an English crime, mystery, thriller and pulp writer and screenwriter.
