Reissue. xii, 274pp. Tissue-guarded plate frontispiece and 12 drawings by Patten Wilson. In deep red cloth-covered boards with black lettering on front and gilt titles on spine. Cloth a little darkened, lightly rubbed on edges, slightly rounded at spine ends. Spotting on text block edges. Prize presentation plate, dated 1911, on front paste down endpaper, and a little toning to endpapers. Mild spotting throughout. A collection of essays, several of which previously appeared in periodicals and journals, on animal behaviour and other nature and wildlife matters.
