144pp. Numerous illustrations in black and white. Pictorial dust jacket over blue-cloth covered boards. Very gentle edge wear to dust jacket and slightly dusty top edge, else neat, bright, clean and tight throughout. Previous owner's name on endpaper. Traces of the history of the London suburb of Wimbledon from the original manor house - home first of the Cecil family and later the Spencer (think Lady Diana) family through the coming the railways to modern developments. One can't give an account of Wimbledon's history without mention of tennis and the All England Club but this book concentrates on Wimbledon's history beyond tennis.
