1st ed, 1st imp. Red publisher's cloth boards. Lending sheet on front free endpaper, no other library markings, and else internally neat and clean. In its original worn and edge-rubbed dust jacket (creased on front near spine, minor loss to fraying at spine ends). Dust jacket now in archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong the life of the jacket. It is not adhered to the book or to the dust jacket. Uncommon in its first edition, although a later, 1957, book club edition is more common.
