Complete in three volumes. All three volumes uniformly half bound in green leather over paler green ? cloth. Gilt lettering and elaborate decorations on spines. Text block edges speckled red. Volume one: 576pp, plus eight colour plates, further black and white plates, and many monochrome illustrations in text, complete with large, colour, fold-out sheet showing bird migration bound in at rear. Volume II: pp577-1056, plus six colour plates, further black and white plates and many monochrome illustrations in text. Volume III: pp993-1384, with eight colour plates, numerous black and white plates and many further illustrations in text. Small 4to. Volumes very slightly rubbed at edges in places, volume two has a very slight nick in cloth on lower edges. All three volumes have a previous owner's name and details neatly inked on the front paste down. Endpaper have some patchy toning, else neat, clean, bright and tight throughout.
