Lending sheet and tape gutter repair on front endpapers, no other library markings and else remarkably clean and neat internally. In its original dust jacket (lightly rubbed at edges, crumbling at spine head). Art work by Bruce Roberts. Dust jacket now in archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong the life of the jacket. It is not adhered to the book or to the jacket. An extremely hard to find title from this writer of sophisticated mysteries. Although an American, Paul frequently drew on his war time experiences in Europe to shape and contextualise his journalistic style. US edition preceded the UK 1st edition.
