xvi, 130pp, including musical scores. Quarter-bound in canvas over mauve paper-covered boards. 8vo. Boards a little rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, lightly but patchily faded and soiled. Ex-libris bookplate on front paste down, a little spotting on endpapers, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A collection of hymns, for each of which two melodies are given, one the traditional plainsong and the other melody a more modern type, in most cases taken from the service books in use in French cathedrals at the turn of the 20th century. With a useful introduction of history and explanation. Hard to find title.
