First edition, first impression. 478pp. In deep red cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. Genealogical trees on endpapers. 8vo. Cloth a little rounded at spine tips. Slight, faint spotting on upper page block edge. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, not price clipped, gently rubbed on edges in places, lightly chipped at spine tips with small loss at spine head, slightly misaligned. Dust jacket now protected in a Brodart-style sleeve, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.
