Boards heavily worn, rubbed all round edges, rounded on corners, spine leather crumbling and detached with minor loss at spine head. Faded and scratched. Front board and backstrip loosened, front free endpaper detached but present. Top edge spray leached to affect early pages along top edge. Some faint and occasional spotting but generally internally neat and clean. Armorial bookplate George Tempest Rowland (likely Major George Tempest Rowland of the Royal Artillery) on front pastedown.
