Windsor Castle: An Architectural History (Volumes I and II and Portfolio of Plans)

Complete in two volumes plus portfolio of plans. Set from a numbered edition limited to 1050 copies, this being No. 763. Vol I: xx, 372pp plus coloured frontispiece, 49 full page and double spread plates and further architectural drawings and illustrations in text. Vol II: x, 373-640pp, coloured frontispiece, plates 50-120 and further architectural and other illustrations in text. Portfolio contains eight large folding maps and plans. Set uniformly bound in red cloth-covered boards with gilt titles. Top edge gilt, other edges deckled. Folio (approximately 15 by 10.5 inches). Volumes I & II a little rubbed and rounded at corners, spines faded, rubbed and cracked at extreme spine tips, a few marks and mild scratches. Both volumes have the bookplate of Harrogate Public Library on the front paste down and small stamps on each plate, usually on the back. A little faint and occasional spotting. The portfolio is worn and faded, rubbed all round edges, rounded on corners, faded over spine and a little marked. Endpapers a little discoloured. Ribbon tie absent. Bookplate of Harrogate Public Library Reference Department on front paste down. The plans are close to pristine but each one has a small stamp on the reverse stating its a folded plate and asking users to open carefully; and a small round stamp of Harrogate Library.
