Undated but circa 1950.  94pp, with colour plate frontispiece, five further colour plate illustrations and numerous black and white illustrations in text.  In pictorial strong card covers, with linen over spine.  Illustrated endpapers.  4to.  Rubbed and chipped at edges, rounded at corners, spine cloth faded and rubbed at ends, faded.  Front hinge cracked.  Page edges a little softened else internally neat, clean and tight.  Just about in good condition.  A collection of stories featuring PC 49, a character who made his first appearance in print in 1947 and featuered in a radio series in the late 1940s and early 1950s.  The collection of stories is preceded by a foreword by Brain Reece, entitled I am PC 49.  Reece played PC 49 in the radio series.
