26pp stitched booklet, without covers, line drawings and sketches in text plus eight black and white plate illustrations.  8vo.  Rubbed at edges, outer leaves a little toned and soiled, bumped and crushed around the lower leading corner.  Previous owner's name neatly inked at top of first page.  Internally clean, bright and tight.  Publication of a paper on the London Fire Brigade and the organisation of its fire appliances to be delivered at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers on 22 January 1937. It considers the history of the London Fire Brigade and its transition from dependency on horse-drawn appliances towards the development of mechanical  and motorised fire engines.
