Covers worn, chipped at edges, especially around corners, cracked at base of spine. Stamp of the Kent Fire Brigade Union on front panel. Internally some creasing, toning and edge wear to pages. The story of George Reed, who joined the Auxiliary Fire Service (AFS) in London three days after the outbreak of the second world war, and how he and his colleagues fought to stop London burning during the war.
