The Egyptian builders of the pyramids are revealed by Rosalie David as a simple people, leading ordinary lives while engaging in the epic enterprise of pyramid-building. She described the work of the Kahun Project at Manchester Museum which has been reworking the major collection of objects excavated by Flinders Petrie, known as the father of British Egyptology, linking this to the towns and villages, such as Kahun, which were the homes of the pyramid workforce.
