This edition, printed at the Curwen Press, limited to 1000 copies, of which this is No. 60. Patterned card covered boards (a little worn and faded, with old tape mark at base of spine. Internally fresh, clean and tidy. Binding remains firm and square. Introductory text by Geoffrey Keynes, followed by a setting of Thornton's Virgil accompanied by William Blake's illustrations, followed sixteen further of Blake's wood engraving designs - the last of these was never executed and three others were engraved by a hand other than Blake's. Lacks additional plates in rear pocket. A fascinating work, which looks at the illustrations of English print-maker and seminal figure in the field of visual arts, William Blake.
