First edition.ย  104pp including 89 plate illustrations.ย  In brown cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine.ย  8vo.ย  Cloth a little pushed at spine base.ย  Internally neat, clean, bright and tight.ย  In its original illustrated dust wrapper, a little shelf worn, lightly bumped on edges. The first catalogue of the oeuvre of an acknowledged painter of fakes, Tom Keating.ย  The art world was thrown into turmoil when he revealed that he had hoaxed art dealers, institutions, auction houses and collectors with some 2000 faked paintings over a period of 20 years, forging the works of artists such as Rembrandt, Constable, Toulouse- Lautrec and Munch.ย  This volume traces, to the extent possible, where some 200 hundred of his forged paintings have got to and openly acknowledges that of the remaining 1800, their location is unknown.
