First edition.  316pp, with half-tone plate frontispiece and 15 further similar illustrations.  In deep blue cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering front and spine.  Bevelled edges.  Top edge sprayed blue.  8vo.  Cloth gently rubbed at spine ends, a couple of small mild marks.  Light toning on free endpapers.  Stamp of the Boston College and High School Domestic Library on the title page (no other library markings), else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Sims Reeves (1821-1900) was a succesful English opera singer, ballad tenor and vocalist.
