First UK edition, first printing (previously published in the USA under the title Four Horse-players are Missing).  224pp.  In red cloth-covered boards with black lettering on spine.  8vo.  Cloth a little pushed at spine ends.  Offset toning on endpapers, front free endpaper price-clipped in upper corner else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.  In its original matte, illustratred dust wrapper, a little  rubbed on extreme edges, crumbled at spine ends, a couple of minor indentations on spine. A novel of relationships perverted by gambling and intrigue.
