32pp plus 18 full colour plate illustrations of Churchill's paintings. Pale olive cloth boards (worn at edges, slightly rounded at corners, and very slightly discoloured around corners). A little foxing/rustiness on front endpaper, which also bears a previous owner's name. Small mounted print of Churchill's painting of 'Cannes Harbour' loosely laid in. In its original, heavily edge-chipped and worn dust jacket, with two short, flat tears on reverse and sunned around spine. Jacket fitted with archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong its life. It is not adhered to the book or to the jacket. Churchill's three pictures on the line at the Royal Academy and his election as an Honorary Academian Extraordinary aroused great interest in this accomplishments as a painter, prompting the publication of this book. This volume contains reproductions in full colour of 18 of Churchill's paintings and is introduced by a reprint of his two brilliant essays on hobbies and painting.
