The dust wrapper was designed by Andy Warhol and Jack Wolfgang Beck (credited on the inner front flap), and the frontispiece is also by Andy Warhol (credited on the copyright page), marking another step in the relationship Warhol had with the publishers, Doubleday.ย  Forbidden Childhood is a no holes barred account of American pianist Ruth Slenczynska's childhood and her relationship with her father and his determination that she play the piano from a very early age.
