Quarter bound in brown leather under green cloth-covered boards; gilt titles on spine; top text block edge sprayed gilt, remaining edges untrimmed; black endpapers. 4to. Heavily rubbed spine and ends, shelf number written on; heavily rubbed and bumped corners with cloth worn through, staining to boards, indentation on rear. Fore and bottom text block edges tanning. Lender's stamps and markings on front endpapers and copyright page. Pages tanning, volume quite loose. Otherwise internally neat and clean.
The South Kensington Museum is now known as the Victoria and Albert Museum, in London's Museum District.
