First English language edition, first printing. 474pp, lavishly illustrated in full colour throughout. Red cloth-covered boards with gilt titles. Volume is neat, clean, bright and tight throughout. Presented in its original dust wrapper, not price clipped, very slightly bumped around lower leading corner.
A lavishly produced art volume, opening with a history of the Prado Art Museum in Madrid and then providing a virtual guided tour to some 275 of its finest art works and paintings, all acknowledged masterpieces and grouped thematically into the different schools of painting represented in the Prado's collection. There's also a section on the Royal Collections of Spain, now held by the Prado.
