Marie-Antoinette: Her Early Youth (1770-1774)

First edition, first impression.  xxiv, 590, [2]pp, with tissue-guarded frontispiece and monochrome plate illustrations in text.  Red cloth-covered boards with gilt design on front panel and gilt lettering on spine.  Top edge gilt. 8vo.  Cloth a little worn, rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, heavily sunned over spine.  Previous owner's armorial bookplate on front paste down. There are extensive inked annotations on front and rear endpapers and in margins of the preface (which for the most part comment on the text, challenging its veracity) else internally neat, clean and tight.
