Cloth slightly soiled, gently rounded at spine tips.  Upper text block edge spotted and stained.  Hint of spotting on endpapers else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Ernest Newman (born William Roberts, 1868-1959) was the foremost music critic of the late 19th and early 20th century, music critic for The Sunday Times for nearly forty years.
