First edition, first impression.  42pp, with black and white illustrations. Black publisher's cloth-covered boards, gilt-stamped lettering on the spine.  Illustrated endpapers.  12mo.  Cloth a little pushed at spine ends.  Small scuff at base of front hinge, else internally neat, clean and tight.  In its original laminated, illustrated dust wrapper, shelf worn, a little rubbed at edges, remains of old price sticker on rear panel. The fine painting which illustrated this story are the from triptych know as the Portinari Altar-piece by Hugo van der Goes.  Various details from the altar-piece are distributed throughout the book and the full triptych forms the endpapers; all in all making this a rather lovely publication.
