26 consecutive numbers of the weekly journal The Cottage Gardener, issued between January and June 1857, bound into a single volume, with index.  viii, 231-452, 1-210. with occasional black and white illustrations in text.  Half bound in green leather over marbled paper boards, gilt titles on spine.  Brown endpapers.  4to.  Boards heavily worn, significant cracks in spine leather with lower portion of backstrip absent, some scuffs to leather.  Possibly replacement endpapers, front hinge cracked.  Some faint and occasional spotting on pages else neat, clean and tight internally.
