First edition, first printing. xii, 116pp with half-tone plate frontispiece, eight further half-tone plates and several line illustrations in text. Green cloth-covered boards with gilt titles. 12mo. Cloth a little less than bright, gently rubbed at corners and spine ends, sunned over spine. Upper text block edge darkened. Previous owner's name neatly inked on front free endpaper. Some pencilled notes regarding St Nicholas on rear free endpaper. Free endpapers tanned else internally pleasingly fresh and crisp.
