All issues of the Argosy issued in July to December 1882, bound into a single volume.ย 524pp, with occasional engraved illustrations in text, all by Richard Barnes.ย Patterned blue cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering oh the spine.ย Cloth a little shelf worn, gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends.ย Text block edges spotted. Internally a few mild marks on endpapers and a hint of page toning else neat, clean and tight.
The Argosy was a somewhat racy literary magazine published between 1865 and 1901, carrying a selection of short stories, serialised novels, articles and poetry.ย Mrs Henry Wood (Ellen Wood) was the long-time editor of the magazine and frequently a contributor.
