Baddesley Clinton is a 13t century moated manor house, now in the care of the National Trust: it was the home of the Ferrers family from the mid 16th century, a prominent recusant Roman Catholic family.ย The original owner of the manor, Nicholas Brome, rebuilt the nearby parish church of St Michael's as a penance having murdered the parish priest, a crime said to have been committed in the house itself.
