First edition, fourth printing.ย 32pp, colour plate frontispiece (showing Winston Churchill at his easel)ย plus 18 colour plate illustrations. Red cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on black relief on the spine.ย All edges sprayed red.ย Red endpapers.ย 8vo.ย Cloth a little shelf worn, gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends.ย Previous owner's name nearly inked on the front free endpaper else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.
A lengthy essay by Winston Churchill on painting followed by colour plate illustrations of his own works.ย The essay originally appeared in print in Thoughts and Adventures in 1932; and was first published in book form by Odhams Press in 1948.
