First edition, first impression.  xxiv, 484pp, with charts and tables in text.  Black cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering front and spine.  8vo.  Cloth a little brushed and worn, gently rubbed at spine ends.  Upper text block edge a little dust dulled.   An ex university library copy with label taped over spine, usual library marking on the front endpapers, small stamp on the copyright page and again on the last printed leaf, else internally neat, clean and tight.
