64pp, in laminated light card covers. 8vo. Covers are a little worn, gently rubbed at corners. An ex library copy with a label on front cover, bookplate inside front cover, bar code on title page and small stamp on the copyright page, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.
A biography of Walter Geikie (1795-1837), who was born in Edinburgh and left deaf by a nervous infection at the age of two. A painter and fellow of the Royal Scottish Academy, he was also the founder of the world's first deaf church and society.
