Richard 'Dick' Gregory (1932-2017) was an American comedian and actor, an activist and social critic.  Popular particularly with audiences among the African-American communities in the American south with his frank sets poking fun at the bigotry and racism in the US.  He was arrested many times for his activism and went on many hunger strikes while imprisoned.  Love the tag line on this book: 'Dear Momma, Wherever you are, if you hear the word 'nigger' again, remember they are advertising my book'.
