First edition, first impression. xvi, 182pp, with colour plate frontispiece with captioned tissue-guard, three further similar colour plates, one copperplate engraving and many further monochrome illustrations in text. Green cloth-covered boards with gilt-stamped lettering on front panel. 12mo. Cloth covers heavily worn, very rubbed and rounded at corners, backstrip wholly chipped away, some marks and discolouration to cloth. Text block edges a little yellowed. Front hinge starting and some strained gutters. Some spotting and browning throughout internally.
