First edition. 16pp plus 32pp of colour and monochrome plate reproductions of Bawden's works. Printed, coloured card covers (gentle edge wear, a couple of small marks on back cover). Reference library bookplate inside front cover, occasional discreet ownerships stamps, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Bawden made his reputation before the war, discharging commissions such as the Refreshment Rooms at Morley College, served as an official war artist in the second world war, and matured in the post war years. This booklet emphasizes his war work, because the war had a profound affect on his style of artistry. With some biographical notes and an introduction to his work. Oblong 12mo.
