del Castillo (1933-2024) as child was interned with his mother in a concentration camp during the second world.Β Strong influenced by Fyodor Dostoevsky, his writing received many awards.Β The Guitar, a study in loneliness, opens a window on the dark and primitive minds of the inhabitants of an isolated corner of Spain.Β A strange and remarkable book, it was his second novel, here translated into English.
