First edition, first printing. 284pp plus sections of black and white plate illustrations. Blue cloth boards with gilt titles to spine. 8vo. Cloth a little rubbed and bumped at corners and spine ends. Upper text block edge dust dulled. Pages are a little less than bright with a hint of toning else internally neat, clean and tight. In its original dust jacket, price clipped, shelf worn, rubbed all round edges with occasional tiny nicks at edges. Little in the history of gramophone recording approaches Decca's mammoth venture in recording Wagner's complete Ring cycle for the first time. It was eight years in the making, The book tells the story of how it was made and the people who made it, written by the man who was in charge of the overall project.
