(xx) xxii, 362pp; five copperplate illustrations of which four fold out. Half bound in calf's leather over marbled paper-covered boards; gilt titles on spine. 4to. Both boards detached; lots of wear. Spine heavily worn with ends missing. Bumping to all corners and edges. Paste downs browned. Half of front free end paper missing; previous owner's name. Some foxing to prelim pages otherwise internally neat, clean and bright. The uuthor carefully examines and compares waters from each county, discusses their uses and debunks other writers' false opinions. Dr Short was an established physician with a practice in Sheffield. He wrote several books on mineral and spa waters but also on tea drinking etc.
