Complete in two volumes. First edition. Volume I: xiv, 390pp, with tissue-guarded portrait plate frontispiece and numerous further plate illustrations interleafed in text from Blake's own works in facsimile by W J Linden and a few reproductions of Blake's original plates; Volume II: viii, 268, 14pp, with folding frontispiece and numerous further plate illustrations interleafed in text from Blake's own works in facsimile by W J Linden and a few reproductions of Blake's own plates. Both volumes uniformly bound in burgundy cloth, with gilt embellishments and letter on upper panels, gilt lettering to spines and blind embossed decorations on rear panels. 8vos. Cloth is a little worn, quite heavily rubbed through and rounded at corners and spine ends, slight ridge in spine cloth of volume two. Upper text block edges dust darkened, remaining edges a little toned. Hint of toning to first and last few pages else internally neat, clean, bright and tight barring the occasional strained gutter. A handsome and imposing set.
