First edition, first impression.ย  52pp stapled booklet with numerous black and white illustrations in laminated, illustrated stiff card covers.ย  Tall and slim 4to.ย  Some gentle edge wear to card covers, a little buckled towards the base of the spine.ย  Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A history of the Thornton-Pickard Manufacturing Company, a camera maker founded in the late 1880s in Altrincham, Cheshire.ย  The company was renowned for its Ruby and Rubyette hand cameras and the Imperial stand camera as well as the innovative Time and Instanteous shutter, which was designed by one of the company's founders, and patented in 1892.
