A heautiful book.  An exploration and examination of the work of Gustav Klimt (1862-1918), the Viennese symbolist painter and founding member of the Vienna Secession movement.  Klimt's work helped to define Art Noveau and this work celebrates his role in moving the art world away from the constraints that prevailed in the late 19th century and entering a new era of freedom of expression.  As such, what unifies the Secessionists - a group which included graphic designers, architects and sculptors as well as painters -  is not so much a common style or approach but the  daring and unique distinctiveness of the individual artist.
