304pp. 8vo. 1st thus but unlikely to be true first. Decorated paper-covered boards with cloth around spine (depicting a clothed jackass reading - charming). Lovely decorated initial capitals at the start of each fable. Deckled edges. 8vo. Rubbed and worn at edges with some marks and foxing, but square, tight and robust and pages clean and bright. A collection of humourous yet pointed modern fables.
