First edition, first impression.ย  x, 298pp, plus 16pp of monochrome plate illustrations.ย  Crimson cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine.ย  8vo.ย  Cloth very slightly rounded at corners and spine ends, with a minor indentation at the base of the front panel.ย  Text block edges a little toned, and some light spotting on endpapers only. Previous owner's name neatly stamped on the front free endpaper else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.ย  In its original dust wrapper, slightly faded, a little chipped at edges and somewhat shelf worn.ย  Dust wrapper now protected in an Brodart0style sleeve, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.
